I haven't left the house for weeks due to multiple issues. But a lot is coming together -- behind the scenes.
My past errors have revealed what I have to do differently in 2018.
One of the reasons, I withdrew from the Melbourne independent film industry is because...
Only a FOOL keeps repeating the same patterns for the SAME RESULTS.
After a decade of working my arse-off in low-budget film productions -- (often without payment).
It became obvious to me that actors keep swimming around in the same pond. It doesn't get you anywhere!
You end up with a shitty film with 'poor sound'...
And it goes on and on. Year in, year out.
Often the director doesn't even have the courtesy to give you a copy of your footage.
Well, I'm sorry. But my mantra is:
"Work smarter. Not harder."
I've said NO to many low-budget productions since 2011.
And I will continue to say no.
NO IS POWER.
NO. NO. NO.
Just FUCKING NO.
You want me to act in your film? Well... FUCKING PAY ME. Or fuck off!
In the projects I've created myself. People were paid -- from my OWN pocket.
There is no excuse not to pay an actor for their work. NONE.
Working with this lack of professionalism in Melbourne caused my nervous breakdown in 2011.
So when I decided to return to acting in 2017 with my one-woman-show that I took to the west end of London.
I set up some new rules for myself.
THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING AT THE MOMENT
Currently, I'm in the second week of an online voiceover course with acclaimed British Voiceover artist and actor -- Guy Michaels.
Guy was one of my tutors at The London Actors Centre in 2017.
I'll be recording a new voiceover demo with Guy later in the year. The plan is to do voiceover work for the adult-lit/erotic/relaxation market.
I have another two weeks to go. It's wonderful. I show up EVERY day and do the work.
Recently, I was approached by a European artist.
He wants to commission me to write sex-prose for two European released art books. It's focus is French literature/poetry. I will begin work on this project in March, It's a big job. But I'm up for it! I will announce the titles/artist at a later date.
I'm currently throwing up ideas with two Melbourne film directors that I admire and want to work with. Two short films pushing boundaries will POSSIBLY be made later this year. At the moment it's just a seedling.
Being off social media has increased my creativity tenfold. I will never ever return!
I spend most nights, drinking wine and doing my erotic blackouts and pornography drawings. I am yet to release my drawings. But it's cum-ing. (pardon the pun).
My erotic erasure art has been accepted into two online magazines. A feature on my pieces will launch THIS Sunday.
I will self-publish a PICTURE book in 2018.
I have the title. I have most of the work ready for it. It will probably happen around June/July before I head to Vietnam. I am very excited about it and via professional feedback from international artists I believe it will be well-received.
I have an interview launching with an American Magazine about my return to UK. Should launch this week.
On Valentines Day, I have a podcast launching with a very respected film maker and friend -- who has worked in the US/AUS film industries for many years. SO looking forward to it.
That's it folks!
My name is Vanessa de Largie.
