Well, I'm in Vietnam but the journey hasn't been without it's dramas. Where do I begin?
The flight from Melbourne was delayed by two hours due to engineering issues. This of course, fucked up my connecting flight from Singapore to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh).
When I finally arrived at Ho Chi Minh, my luggage didn't arrive. To say that I was pissed off is the understatement of the century.
My make-up, my clothes -- my EVERYTHING was in my case.
I felt so gross walking around the city in sweaty clothes with a tired face. So I caught a cab to a hotel near the airport. I had a Vietnamese beer, a hot shower and went to bed. I was too exhausted to even think about this bullshit. I'd work it out tomorrow...
I was overjoyed when Qantas rung at 8.30am the following morning and told me my luggage had arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and they would courier it to my hotel and pay for any expenses.
The suitcase was delivered to my hotel within an hour and they paid for the cab and the hotel room. Thank you Qantas for righting your wrong. I appreciate it.
I changed into a summer dress, put some warpaint on before heading back to the airport for my afternoon flight to Phu Quoc Island.
My airport transfer car was there with a drink, a smile and a wet towel (it's hot here 35 degrees, steamy tropical wet season) which was really welcome.
I'm staying in the most beautiful resort on Phu Quoc Island. It has a private beach, a pool, a spa, beautiful greenery and wildlife and great cocktails and restaurants.
I've just been being a lady of leisure... it suits me. :-)
Making new friends in the bar and lazing around.
I may venture out of the resort or I may live here for life.
We shall see.
